“Speak Up!”: Azad’s Story

Azad, who is 15 years old, and his mother, Laure, share their journey of living with a growth condition.  

Laure first noticed something when Azad was around three years old. Azad wasn’t growing at the same pace as other children his age. His clothes still fit, while his younger brother was quickly outgrowing his.

Together, Azad and Laure faced many challenges, as growth conditions affect far more than just height. Their journey included the uncertainty of obtaining a diagnosis, the impact a growth condition has on self-esteem and confidence, and the difficulties of navigating the healthcare system.
